What can Web3 founders expect?

PolkaBiz will work on helping Web3 founders

  • Pitch and articulate their business value proposition.

  • Determine if their product is solving a real pain point.

  • Determine if their product adds value to the Polkadot ecosystem.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies.

  • Prepare their lite paper and pitch decks.

  • Iterate their pitch decks and lite papers.

  • Make their startups investment-ready.

  • Determine the best pathway for getting their idea funded.

  • Connect with investors at the side event ( organized by PolkaBiz) at Polkadot Decoded.

We also expect to dedicate time to

  • Reach out to founders throughout the PBA network.

  • Reach out to founders throughout the Polkadot ecosystem.

  • Reach out to founders outside of the Polkadot ecosystem.

  • Prepare meetup events where founders can connect with investors ( e.g., like the one we will organize for Polkadot Decoded).

  • Iterate the product offering to founders based on feedback.

Details of the work involved

  • Value Proposition: Founders need to be able to explain what they do in three main nouns:

          (1) What is being built ( marketplace, DEX, game, etc.),

          (2) Who the product is for ( gamers, NFT traders, developers, etc.), and

          (3) What problem is being solved ( reducing development time, etc.)

From our experience at the PBA, it was clear that many founders had a very long and complicated value proposition. Clarity is
fundamental when trying to determine a value proposition.

  • Review pitch decks & presentations:  Each month, we will hold pitch presentation events on Google Meet. Founders will present their 12-slide decks in 5 minutes and receive feedback to enhance their pitches.

  • Review the lite paper: Lite papers should be concise, limited to 5 pages. They must define the project's value proposition, problem and solution, including market analysis.

  • Iterative reviews: Based on our feedback, founders will improve their pitch decks and lite paper. These documents, particularly the pitch decks, will improve with each iteration.  We evaluate progress through improved grades.

  • Ecosystem connections: PolkaBiz will help founders determine what tools/services they might need for their startups. For example, they may want to develop their appchain (e.g., Tanssi), have on-chain credentials (e.g., Kilt protocol), have a DAO ( e.g., Invarch), etc. We can connect them with key players in the ecosystem.

  • Fundraising Strategy: Guide founders through choosing the best fundraising avenues. We also support founders applying for Web3 grants, decentralized futures, or the Polkadot treasury.

  • Networking Investor events: These are events where founders can meet investors. The first side event will be at Polkadot Decoded Brussels.

  • Feedback Mechanism: Each founder will complete a feedback survey for each pitch deck and lite paper iteration. This helps us refine our support and measure Polkabiz's effectiveness .

The goal is to prepare founders to present their ideas to investors at the side event at Polkadot Decoded Brussels on July 11.
